Apr. 8th, 2006 02:32 pmAs the date for "Stadium Arcadium" draws near, you will probably see more and more posts about my favorite band in the whole wide world, the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
You see, Anthony Kiedis, Flea and the whole band are my personal heroes. Flea has the biggest heart in the whole wide world, and his love for Clara radiates from him. He is multi-talented, having been in movies and his bass skills are beyond comparison. There isn't a better bass player in all of rockdom. Anthony made it past heroin addiction and the whole band saved John Frusciante's life; he was addicted too. They made it through so much pain and heartache, losing their first guitarist, Hillel Slovak, to heroin overdose. Their music has been growing in leaps and bounds and to just watch them perform makes my heart leap and flutter in joy and rapture.
Their creativity has no bounds and their videos make me laugh and cry. They are not afraid of anything and explode with energy. There is no one like them in the entire world. I love them to pieces. If I do nothing else in life, I want to meet this band and tell them how much they mean to me. I haven't said that about any other band.
And in spite of some people under the age of 30 (poke poke jab jab), all of the band members except John are over 40 and still are absolutely AMAZING on stage and off.
I strive to be like them in every aspect of my life. Completely honest, forthright, and able to face and conquer my fears, no matter what may happen in my life.
