Had a bit of good fortune fall on me last couple of days. Situation was that I was $130 in the hole, getting ready to write an overdraft check for rent, and housebound with no gas for 3 weeks until my next paycheck came. Mom gave me an unexpected $26 yesterday, $20 for gas and $6 for laundry. I guess she felt bad for me since I told her I was doing laundry in the tub. Hey, I needed underwear. It's not like I NEED a washing machine to do clothes. People did do laundry by hand in the olden days. Though I will tell you that wringing out flannel sheets is hard.
So, I went to pay my rent check today, cause I forgot to yesterday (and it was Sunday today anyway and I was putting it off as long as possible anyway), and I checked my mail. Guess what was in there?
$190 BUCKS! :-O Two checks from the IRS for past taxes owed me. *BLINK BLINK* :-O OMGODDESS!!!
I love the Universe. Now I have enough to get a full tank of gas, get laundry money, cover my rent, pay my credit card bills that are due before my next payday, cover what will be withdrawn from the Oregonian when I signed up for news delivery (hey, I got a $20 Freddies gift card out of it. One needs TP, you know), and STILL have $15 left over! :D
I was going to get an oil change cause my car needs one really badly, but it will have to wait.
